Going to Grandma's

As I walk down memory lane, I can't help but stop before those blissful memories of going to grandma's house as a child. I'm sure that you can relate to this too! After all, not many people don't cherish every moment spent at their grandma's house. My memories of going to grandma's consist of three main things, and they are:

1. Plenty of hugs and kisses

2. Kind and loving words and

3. A boat load of goodies.

I'm sure that you have experienced at least one of these. As for number three, there doesn't seem to be a time when their wasn't at least a bowl of candy at my grandma's house. There are so many memories of visiting grandma, that I don't know where to begin!
No matter what the occasion, going to grandma's house is always filled with giggles and smiles. I remember those lovely thanksgiving afternoons when we'd go and visit my grandmother for a luncheon. Her house was filled with the aroma of freshly baked turkey smothered with gravy, and of course all of the regular side dishes, with that one unique recipe that had been passed down from an early relative. And later that thanksgiving evening, I recall going over to my fraternal grandparent's cozy house for a Thanksgiving supper. Besides Thanksgiving, there are many other holidays I remember spending with my grandparents. For example, a tradition of my maternal grandparents was that we would celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. I remember how all of the relatives would gather at their house, and how we'd play with our cousin Chloe. We'd also eat pizza and open Christmas presents. I remember how eager all of us children were to tear open those mysterious packages underneath the colorfully lit Christmas tree. I have tons more memories to share, yet I hardly have enough room to write them all. I still cherish my visits to grandma, and always will.
I know that everybody has one or more of these memories, of going to grandmas, and if so I ask you to share them with me. Please write a comment concerning a memory you have with your grandma. I'd love to hear them all! :)

Introduction

I've always appreciated the memories of my past, and for some reason, I seem to appreciate the happy moments better when I look back at them. I had a good childhood, it had it's ups and downs as all childhoods do, but all in all it was filled with many delightful times. I have been homeschooled all my life, and have no regrets whatsoever. Sure, public school allows you to get out and visit with friends every day, but then again, so does homeschool. The only difference is that you are able to carefully select your company and when and where you'd like to get out. I'm perfectly content being at home all day, and though I admit that I do look forward to getting out, even if it just be to go to the local library, I still can't find myself to cave-in and attend public school.
My life is quite simple really, I was raised and live in Colorado, Springs, where the colossal purplish-blue mountains can be seen, and the snow falls so heavily. I don't live on a farm, nor in an apartment, just a simple "home", close to stores and other businesses for our convenience. I'd always been a day-dreamy and hopeless romantic sort, always playing blissful scenarios in my head. I am also a very devout writer, and upon asking myself why I like to write, I have realized that it's sort of an escape for me. It's somewhat like an airplane, for me, that leads me to different lands, where I am provoked to solve my character's dilemmas for them. Also, considering that I love art, I think of writing as an art... it's like painting a picture. For example; I paint a writing picture when I describe the beautiful world surrounding my characters. Besides writing and drawing, I also love to act. I enjoy acting, because it allows me to become anyone I please. I also like acting because I've always wanted to leave an impact on people, and make them really feel the story, as if it were happening to them. Therefore I find acting to be the perfect way to try to reach my goal, and either cause people to laugh or cry, whatever my character's story may be. Now, that you know me better, I hope that this has enabled you to understand and relate to my future posts.
